Here is what we keep when you give to a channel through this site, and why we keep it.
What we collect
- A name and a message, if you feel like leaving them. Both appear on the public supporter wall — unless you choose “Keep my support anonymous”, in which case neither does.
- The email address that comes with your PayPal payment. We hold it for our records and so that we can thank you.
- A little attribution data — a referral click identifier and campaign (UTM) parameters — kept in a single cookie for up to 30 days, so that the channel which sent you here gets the credit.
Payment information
PayPal takes care of the payment itself. Card numbers, bank details and PayPal passwords never pass through us, and we hold none of them.
How we use it
To receive your gift and thank you for it, to put your name on the supporter wall when you have not asked to stay anonymous, to keep honest records, and to credit the channel that referred you.
Sharing
We pass on what is needed to PayPal so your payment can go through, and we keep a copy in our own reconciliation records. We do not sell anyone's personal information, and there are no third-party advertising trackers on this site.
Your choices
